Qualifications:

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in steel fabrication, heavy industrial construction, or crane-related operations
  • Demonstrated experience planning and supervising critical or high-risk lifts in active industrial environments
Technical Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, lift plans, specifications, and crane load charts
  • Strong understanding of rigging practices, lift engineering fundamentals, and crane operational limits
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, ASME, DOT, and applicable industry standards
Certifications (Preferred or Required Based on Company Policy)
  • NCCCO Rigger and/or Crane Operator certification (preferred)
  • Formal Lift Director or Critical Lift Planning training (preferred)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction (preferred)
Communication & Leadership
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in high-risk operational environments
  • Ability to direct crews, enforce procedures, and maintain professionalism under production pressure

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to work in fabrication shops and outdoor yard environments
  • Ability to walk uneven surfaces, climb ladders or structures, and stand for extended periods
  • Occasional travel between company facilities or project locations as required


Reporting

This position will report directly to the Corporate Superintendent with day-to-day reporting to Shop Superintendents.
