Job Summary:
The Structural Steel Projects Scheduler will develop and manage project schedules using MS Project for all phases of structural steel fabrication. The Scheduler will work closely with project management, engineering, and on-site production management teams to ensure project timelines are met and resources are efficiently allocated. This position requires a strong background in scheduling methodologies, critical path analysis, and familiarity with the unique demands of structural steel projects.
Essential Functions:
- Create and maintain a master integrated schedule
- Use MS Project to establish and monitor critical path activities, dependencies, and project float.
- Update and adjust schedules as necessary to reflect project progress, changes in scope, or resource availability.
- With the project managers coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to align resources with project timelines.
- Facilitate regular meetings to review schedule status, upcoming activities, and any potential bottlenecks.
- Proactively address challenges as they arise, making real-time adjustments to keep projects on track.
- Maintain detailed records of schedule changes, including baseline, revised, and as-built schedules.
- Generate earned value reports or other tracking metrics as requested.
- Provide recommendations based on past project performance, supporting the team in optimizing future project schedules.

Teamwork is essential in this position and the Scheduler must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staff.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in construction or fabrication and assembly scheduling, with a minimum of 3 years in structural steel or heavy civil projects.
- Proficiency in MS Project and understanding of scheduling principles; experience with Primavera P6 is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, delivery, and assembly processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively, organize tasks, and work collaboratively within a team setting.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- Awareness of industry standards and regulations for structural steel projects.
- Project scheduling certifications, such as PMI-SP (Project Management Institute – Scheduling Professional), are advantageous.
