Job Summary:

The Controller will direct, prepare and oversee the financial activities of the company, including cashflow, insurance programs, audits, financial reporting as well as manage and prepare current monthly financial reports, along with maintaining and developing the operation and process relating to all these areas.  This role oversees the departments/ functions of Purchasing, Payroll, Human Resources, and Office Management, having eight direct reports. It also oversees an outsourced Information Technology function. The job is based in Gibsonton, Florida.
 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Accounting, Purchasing, Payroll, Human Resources, and Office Management  department personnel, processes and operations.
  • Works with other department managers to monitor each department interaction and processes related to accurate and timely information flow to the accounting department.
 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, project work in process reports, cashflows, shareholder reports, various tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Completes revenue and profit projections.  Monitors and reports variance to actual figures to executive management.
  • Monitors and reviews financial processes and recommends improvements to current methods.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization due to redundancies or inefficiencies.
  • Works with the CFO, CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the budget and financial planning process.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in revenue and market share.
  • Management and oversite of each international department’s accounting / tax processes.
  • Management of banking, auditing and insurance partners for best practices and development of relationships.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or Finance required.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Experience in project accounting / job costing preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Experience in ERP systems, namely Payroll (HCM), Accounting & Job Costing systems is preferred. Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook is required. Data Analytics: Power Bi is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
