Job Summary:
The primary role of the Maintenance Manager is to manage, direct and coordinate all aspects of the shop and yard equipment maintenance to help ensure continued safe operations. Normal responsibilities will include planning and documentation of maintenance and preventive maintenance by working with shop foremen on equipment that needs repair on a day-to-day basis.

Must be able to understand maintenance manuals, codes, and diagrams.
Teamwork
Actively participate in all Safety meetings.
Work with and cooperate with all team members including Safety Coordinator, Superintendent, foremen and maintenance personnel.
Qualifications
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
This position will work with the Shop Superintendent in a Continuous Improvement Environment with a focus on Safety, People, Quality and Cost Controls.
Must have a good knowledge and understanding of electrical, hydraulics, welding and burning equipment, plumbing, compressors, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, forklifts, and trucks and trailers.
Education and/or Experience
High School education and a minimum of three years’ experience or equivalent education
Language Skills:
The Maintenance Manager must communicate in a professional manner and show respect both orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments, and foremen.
Reporting:
Reports to Shop Superintendent and works closely with all production managers.
